Good Old Fashioned Values
Meg: I just want to kill myself !I'm gonna go upstairs and eat a whole bowl of peanuts.
(Lois and Peter stare in silence)
Meg: I'm allergic to peanuts.
(Peter and Lois keep staring)
Meg: You dont know anything about me!
(runs upstairs)
Peter: Who was that guy?
(Lois and Peter stare in silence)

The first time I saw family guy I liked it. It was simplistic,but bold. Now when I go back to view them I find that i'm less and less into the show, and a lot of times i really hate it. I think it's because the shows humor is soly based on pushing the envelope. It makes you laugh more becuase your uncomfortable,("we're all clear on the rules right, no blacks and no jews") than the show being funny. This makes the rewatchability very low.
Now every cloud has it's silver lining. Those first three seasons had some golden moments. Adam west as the mayor, the Dog thats basically a human, and lines like the one you posted were great ideas. Their was somthing plesant about watching a show that had one foot in the door of the cartoon world and one in reality. The most bizzare things could happen like the kool-aid man busting through the wall.
Yet now when I watch the new season I just feel sick. They lost what they had, and it's just not funny. They repeat the same jokes and they're going so far over the line some times that even I get affended(don't get me started on american dad). Often their is a two mintues sequence in an episode where their is no animation, the story halts and we witness an event like peter hurting his knee and saying owe for the longest time. It seems like they ran out of story and needed to fill time rather than they are trying to play with our expectatioins.
So Family guy gets my famous thumbs down, but damn I still laughed for a good two minutes when i read that quoate.
I just want to know who can hear that baby talk.
Everyon can hear the baby talk, but since he's a baby they don't pay attention. Except in certain extreme situations. Example when stewie and the little girl become a singing sensation, he has conversations with people who sell tickets and run certain theaters. Or on stewies first birthday, the "man in white" definatly hears stewie, before he gets killed.
